Our Staff: Newcastle Clinic


The physical therapists at Physical Therapy Central all have advanced physical therapy degrees at either the masters or doctorate level. This allows the therapists to provide efficient and effective treatment outcomes for the patients. Each member of the staff completes a minimum of 40 continuing education hours per year to stay at the top of their field.

 

RaeAnn S. Thomas, PT, DPT, OCS
Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy

RaeAnn is a Newcastle native and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1996.  She earned her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2002. She was selected to be a Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society member, indicating she graduated in the top 10% of her class. 

In 2005, RaeAnn opened Physical Therapy Central of Newcastle while pursuing her doctorate degree.  In March of 2007, she graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. Her final Doctorate work was on Evaluation and Treatment of Acetabular Labral Pathology of the Hip.

RaeAnn has been an active Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member since 1999.  In 2007, she became an APTA Certified Clinical Instructor and in 2006 was awarded Clinical Instructor of the Year from the University of Oklahoma physical therapy school.

Her special areas of interest include orthopedics, advanced sports rehabilitation, spinal dysfunction, and manual therapy.  She has extensive training in muscle energy techniques and joint mobilization of the spine.  RaeAnn’s post-graduate course work has been primarily orthopedic based to include ACL rehab and injury prevention as well as evaluation and treatment of shoulder pathology.

RaeAnn enjoys cycling and playing golf.  She also enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, Belle and Murray. 

 

Joshua T. Williams, PT, MPT

Earned his Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2002. Josh was also a member of the Alpha Eta Honors Society, which represents the top 10% of Allied Health Students in the country.  He was the American Physical Therapy Association's Sports Section National Student of the Year in 2002.  Prior to attending physical therapy school, Josh graduated from Newcastle High School in 1996 and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University from 1996-1999.

Josh's areas of interest include rehabilitation and prevention of sports injuries, sports conditioning, post-operative rehabilitation and clinical education of physical therapy students.  He has attended a multitude of continuing education courses including specialization in spinal manipulation, post-operative care, prevention of sports injuries, and athletic strength and conditioning. He has previously served the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association as Student Liaison from 2003-2005 and taught continuing education courses at several state meetings.

He is a life-long resident of the Tri-city area and a proud member of the Physical Therapy Central team. Josh and his wife Misty currently reside in Tuttle with their daughter Dacia and son Rylan. He enjoys playing golf, attending OU basketball games, and spending time with his family.
 

Janie Taylor, PT, DPT, OCS
Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy

Janie graduated with her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2006.  She graduated with outstanding distinction and received the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence as a PT student.  During graduate school, Janie was also a member of Alpha Eta Honor Society.  Prior to earning her Masters in Physical Therapy, Janie graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science.

Janie graduated in August 2009 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A.T. Still University, in the Arizona School of Health Sciences.  Janie’s doctoral studies included gender healthcare issues, imaging for physical therapists, and pharmacology for rehabilitation professionals.  In addition to earning her DPT, Janie has attended multiple state and local continuing education courses with emphasis on orthopedic injuries, differential diagnosis, and manual therapy. 

Janie is active in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA), starting with her service as OPTA student legislative liaison in graduate school.  She currently serves on the OPTA Board of Directors as Membership Chairman.  Janie has represented Oklahoma physical therapists in the APTA House of Delegates as well as advocated for patients and therapists on Capitol Hill through APTA legislative affairs.  In 2008, Janie was awarded a national “Emerging Leader” award from APTA for her service.  

Janie resides in Mustang with her husband, Tommy Taylor, and new baby girl, Kate.

 

Kevin Wilcher, PT, DPT

Kevin earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 from Emory University.  Emory University is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is ranked as one of the top physical therapy programs in the Nation.  During physical therapy school he served as student liaison for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).  Kevin was also chosen by Emory University to represent them as a student panel member during the 2008 Accreditation Process. 

Kevin attended the University of Oklahoma during his undergraduate studies.  In 2005, he earned his Bachelors in Zoology with an emphasis in Bio-Medical Sciences.

Kevin’s special interests include orthopedic and sports-related injuries as well as spine rehabilitation.  His future plans include board certification in one of the specialty areas of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Kevin is originally from Altus, Oklahoma graduating from high school in 1999.  He has vast experience in instructing both swimming and tennis lessons to various age groups at the elite level. 

During his free time he enjoys traveling, watching movies, playing golf and volleyball, and listening to music.
