Our Staff: Davis Clinic
The physical therapists at Physical Therapy Central all have advanced physical therapy degrees at either the Master's or Doctorate level. This allows the therapists to provide efficient and effective treatment outcomes for the patients. Each member of the staff completes a minimum of 40 continuing education hours per year to stay at the top of their field.
Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy
Janie graduated with her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in 2006. She graduated with outstanding distinction and received the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence as a PT student. During graduate school, Janie was also a member of Alpha Eta Honor Society. Prior to earning her Masters in Physical Therapy, Janie graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science. Recently, Janie was honored as a 2010 OSU College of Human Sciences Rising Star Alumni.
Janie graduated in August 2009 with her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from A.T. Still University, in the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Janie's doctoral studies included differential diagnosis, gender-specific conditions such as osteoporosis, patellofemoral pain, and pain during pregnancy, and the study of neurological rehabilitation for patients following a stroke or brain injury. In 2010, Janie earned her American of Physical Therapy Specialties Board certification as an orthopedic specialist (OCS).
Janie is active in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA), starting with her service as OPTA student legislative liaison in graduate school. She currently serves on the OPTA Board of Directors as Membership Chairman. Janie has represented Oklahoma physical therapists in the APTA House of Delegates as well as advocated for patients and therapists on Capitol Hill through APTA legislative affairs. In 2008, Janie was awarded a national "Emerging Leader" award from APTA for her service. In 2011, Janie was awarded the Kenneth Ball Award for Significant Service to the Association.
Janie is co-owner of Physical Therapy of Davis. She resides in Pauls Valley, with her husband, Tommy Taylor, and children, Kate and Harrison.
Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy
Kahn earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University in 2001 with honors. In 2006, Kahn obtained his Orthopaedic Specialist Certification, which is a designation limited to less than 5% of actively practicing physical therapists. Kahn is currently a fellow in training in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy with Evidence in Motion with anticipated completion in 2013.
Kahn's areas of interest are broad but include spinal dysfunction, sports medicine, orthopaedic rehabilitation, and the applications of biomechanics and the impact of the neurological system in its approach to the rehabilitation of patients afflicted with such conditions as stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, and peripheral neuropathy. With additional training in cardiovascular rehab and wound management, Kahn is considered a generalist who can manage a diverse patient population.
He is active in the OPTA and APTA. Kahn owns and operates Physical Therapy Central of Pauls Valley and is a co-owner of Physical Therapy Central of Davis.
